Hello NCBC:

It’s Black History Month! Our moderator, Syreeta, chose a modern classic, If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin, as our February 2019 Book of the Month. It was the perfect pick because the movie of the same name is currently in theatres (garnering Regina King a Golden Globe award), it is the 45th anniversary of the book’s release, and based on member ratings, everyone seemed to LOVE it (except me)!!!
I had a conflict and missed the meeting, so outtakes and final comments weren’t captured; only ratings. Since I am in the minority, I’ll share my disconnects/issues with the novel in the Good Reads Discussion thread for the book.
In the meantime, for those who read it, please share your thoughts and ratings here.
